The book has been professionally rebound with quarter black leather and red cloth bindings decorated with embossed gilt on the spine. It is now housed in a protective matching slipcase inlaid with a photo of Ruth. George Herman Ruth, nicknamed Babe Ruth, was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936. He is considered one of the greatest hitters in the sport s history.

The copy has been signed by Ruth, Bob Considine and others for presentation to the publisher 'on the occasion of Babe Ruth giving the manuscript of this book to the Yale University Library.' In return, a thin, sickly, dying Ruth received a citation in New Haven from the varsity baseball team captain, one George H.W. Bush. All books described as first editions are first printings unless otherwise noted.
