As sub- title states, this book has been written to outline some exercise in Christian spirituality "towards learning the lesson of penitence and humiliation at the foot of the Cross quote, and to suggest one possible method of achieving a wider and deeper insight into the bread, and leave, and depth, and height of the love of Christ, the altogether lovely, for us, the altogether unlovely." This is a proof copy of the book â" and on the free front end page, written in blue coloured ink, are the words "G. W. Target, Friday, 11th November, 1960, Proof copy." Rubber stamp stating "Uncorrected Proof" to the title page. Throughout the book there are blue coloured marks and notes from the editor. A little softening of the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners and lower book edges. The book panels show sunning and a few marks. Browning of the text block edges and lighter browning of the pages stop foxing to the end pages and scattered throughout. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [6], 7 - 95, [1] pages.
