paperback. Condizione: Good. First Edition. Dell first edition, beautiful condition. 1955 Dell paperback looks terrific, with clean pages (no markings) and tight binding, no loose or missing pages. This could easily be rated a higher condition. There is some light edgewear and creasing along the spine. No glaring flaws, only one owner who took great care of his collection. More photos on request. Tulsa's largest used bookstore. Located on South Mingo Road since 1991. No-hassle return policy if not completely satisfied.

Hardcover. Condizione: Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. 1st Edition. The First Edition Library's perfect facsimile of the Shasta original from 1948. One of the hardest First Edition Library titles to find. This is a nice example. The book is as new, resists opening. The dust jacket has a bit of wear at head and heel of spine. I'm rating it near fine to be conservative. The slipcase has a noticeable scrape on spine and a few smaller spots of wear. Photos are the best description. The First Edition Library published exact facsimiles of desirable first editions, down to the smallest details- cloth, paper, binding, and first edition points were identical to the original. The information card (points card) supplied by FEL with information about the book and its publication is valued by collectors, and this book has it.

ABOUT THE BOOK: "Who Goes There?": The novella that formed the basis of "The Thing" is the John W. Campbell classic about an antarctic research camp that discovers and thaws the ancient, frozen body of a crash-landed alien. The creature revives with terrifying results, shape-shifting to assume the exact form of animal and man, alike. Paranoia ensues as a band of frightened men work to discern friend from foe, and destroy the menace before it challenges all of humanity! The story, hailed as "one of the finest science fiction novellas ever written" by the SF Writers of America, is best known to fans as THE THING, as it was the basis of Howard Hawks' The Thing From Another World in 1951, and John Carpenter's The Thing in 1982. With a new Introduction by William F. Nolan, author of Logan's Run, and his never-before-published, suspenseful Screen Treatment written for Universal Studios in 1978, this is a must-have edition for sci-fi and horror fans! Condizione: Fine. Deluxe Edition. One of 50 copies, signed by the artist. This story was originally published in "Astounding Science-Fiction" in August 1938 under the pseudonym Don A. Stuart. It was later adapted into multiple film versions, the most recent being "The Thing" in 2011. It is in a special binding of quarter tan goatskin over blue Japanese cloth covered boards. It is housed in blue cloth covered tryptich folding case with an interior folder holding a suite of five letterpress illustrations, each signed and dated by the artist. The interior maps have been hand-altered with pencil notes of expedition locations. The book, maps, and illustrations were letterpress printed with Ehrhardt Monotype and Haboro Contrast types on Classic Crest Bare White eggshell paper. Polymer plates by the Boxcar Press. Binding by the Campbell Logan Bindery featuring a hand cast, hand painted resin medallion by the artist on the front of the case. 60 pages. PRI/072423.
