DAVID M. LUDLUM was a distinguished historian on American weather. He is the founder of the magazine Weatherwise. Born in East Orange, New Jersey in 1910, he studied at the University of California at Berkeley and Princeton Univeristy. He died in May 1997 at the age of eighty-six.
