Carolyne Barry (Co-Author):
For the last twenty-five years Carolyne Barry has achieved recognition in front of and behind the camera. She has appeared in more than 100 television shows and movies, numerous plays, and over 400 national commercials. Carolyne has also cast over 300 commercials and worked with five Clio Award-winning commercial directors.
She co-founded and managed Professional Artists Group (PAG) in 1983. In the span of six years, PAG became the largest and most innovative actors training and casting studio, as well as a video production facility, on the West Coast. Carolyne was responsible for creating innovative workshops and showcases, and gained national recognition as an authority on actors training.
As part of PAGs productions, Carolyne wrote, produced, and directed corporate films, T.V. commercials, music videos, and actor presentation tapes. One of her most successful video projects was "Lights, Camera, Kids, a how-to for kids breaking into the T.V. commercial business.
In 1994 Carolyne directed Hysterical Blindness which, after a successful run in Los Angeles, went Off-Broadway. Currently, Carolyne teaches Commercial Audition Technique and produces her Commercial Acting Workshop programs, (the largest sole-owned program in Los Angeles), travels as a guest teacher, casts commercials, and works as a commercial actress.
Kevin E. West (Co-Author):
Kevin has been working in Hollywood since the late 1980s. He has been a guest on multiple televsion shows such as Oh,Baby, V.I.P., Angel, Seven Days, Diagnosis Murder, Melrose Place, The Pretender, In the House, Matlock, The Texas Cheerleader Story, and many others. He also portrayed Tim Reese, on ABCs General Hospital. Kevins film credits include Made in Heaven with Timothy Hutton and Monolith with Bill Paxton, Mirror Images II, Expos, and Pedestrian.
In 1991 Kevin founded The Actors Network, a professional business networking organization for the serious actor, with over 475 current members. The network has been featured on Entertainment Tonight three times, CNBC twice, and was the subject of a feature story in BackStage West in 1998. Kevins expertise has lead to speaking engagments at UCLA, Chapman University and the Hollywood Actors Conference.
Kevin has worked in all aspects of the entertainment industry, from his early days as a stand-up comic and improv performer to producing his own cable show, Its a Crazy Life. Kevins desire for affecting positive change within people lead him to executive produce a teen runaway charitable event, Runnin on Empty in 1992, sponsored by Paul Mitchell. In 1993 he directed the post Los Angeles riot event, Together We Can, Together We Will.
