Erik Jan Hanussen, a Con Man of the first order, born in obscurity in 1889 and by the early 1900's was dazzling Central Europe, in the 1920's and the early 1930's, working the carnivals and eventually only the best music hall circuts of Austria and Germany, a master hypnotist, mind reader, magician, telepathic clairvoyant, and psychic. With his psychic, fortune telling, and magic tricks he worked his way into the Nazi Party and eventually a strong relationship with Adolf Hitler. All this to the dismay of the Nazi Party, and in particular irritating Josef Goebbels, and Hermann Goering, and the final step to his downfall was the discovery that Eric Jan Hanussen was born Herschmann-Chaim Steinschneider, a Jew! In the early morning hours of March 25, 1933 the Gestapo arrested him shot him three times and dumped his body in a field!
