Recensione: The only problem with Robert Fisher's Escape to the Amalfi Coast is that it's addictive. Fisher is both a writer and a photographer, and his guide to the Italian coast bordering the Bay of Naples is rich in luscious photography and descriptive prose. Starting with the lure of Positano; exploring the sun-blessed coastal towns of Ravello, Sorrento, and Amalfi; and venturing as far as Naples and Capri, Fisher revels in the region's beauty--both natural and manufactured. He highlights the azure seascapes and scruffy mountain hikes, the palazzos where celebrities romp; the bougainvillea-bedecked nooks where lovers spoon; the grand restaurants serving truffles and foie gras; and the archetypal fishing villages, replete with whitewashed cottages, turquoise seas, and weathered dories. Thumb through those pictures, read about those villages, and your only focus becomes how soon you can go and how long you can stay. --Stephanie Gold
