Riassunto: This is a unique selection of life stories by four women in their seventies and eighties who learned memoir writing through a monthly memoir writing support group. "Tell Your Story, Write Your Life" was a memoir writing class for seniors initally taught by Marjorie Baker Price in the 1990's through the Nazareth College Center for Lifelong Learning. The class was so well received that Price continued to offer the class privately through her practice, Centering Tools for Self-Healing and Empowerment. A dedicated and enthusiastic group of women, Diane Drechsler, Berdjouhi Esmerian, Barbara LaMark and Norma Rappl attended the private class for many years, and compiled their stories into this book. Price published According to Us: Four Women Tell Their Stories in late 2010 and wrote the introduction,"Memoir Writing for Older Women", and a final section, "How to Write Your Own Memoirs." Price states, "These four older women have lived full, challenging, loving, tragic, compromised and successful lives. Every month through our regular class someone laughed, cried, opened up and shared what she most struggled with, what she most cared about, what she most feared, and what she most hoped for in her life through reading her life stories." She added, "We yearn for stories that have meaning to us -- that touch, teach and are able to be passed on. My hope is that this book will inspire women readers to write their memoirs and offer their key life lessons to help and empower others." Diane Drechsler, Berdjouhi Esmerian, Barbara LaMark and Norma Rappl's compelling life stories are all included in three separate sections, "Touch, Teach and Pass On". In addition, they completed "Who We Are" and "How We Write" for additional inspiration and guidelines to older women memoir writers.
