Riassunto: A small-town homicide detective, Niles Patrick, with an unusual "sixth sense," is called to the scene of a ghastly murder of a beautiful young woman where the only evidence the criminal forensics team finds is fingerprints, which Niles runs himself and discovers something extremely disturbing; the prints are his, though he did not know the woman nor had he ever been to her home. Soon, Niles is hunting a serial killer who may or may not be himself and has precious little time to solve the mystery that's driving him to the brink of madness.
This was very exciting and somewhat disturbing to write. It's unique from my other two suspense/thrillers in that it's a hybrid horror/psychological murder mystery. It's the best premise for a novel that I've written and it's written in an unorthodox and choppy manner for a reason. Originally written as a screenplay, it's a little reminiscent of the movies 'Memento' and 'Jacob's Ladder' . The reader truly has no clue what's going on until the mystery is resolved, or is it?
