Riguardo questo articolo

"The discussion of slavery will proceed, wherever two or three are gathered together - by the fireside, on the highway, at the public meeting, in the church. The movement against slavery is from the everlasting arm. -Charles Sumner." A passionate and emotional discourse against slavery in America, using Biblical references, sermons, and lots of case histories and examples. An interesting section describes the beliefs of various religious denominations in America concerning slave owning- whether allowed, condemned, tolerated, whether members can take communion if they own slaves, how many slaves are owned by ministers and members, etc. Very interesting and scarce work on the slavery question. Second edition of 1854. 5" X 7 1/4", 224 pages, blind stamped cloth covered boards, gilt title on spine. Worn at edges, corners and top and bottom of spine worn through, corners bumped, but fairly clean and solid copy. Foxing throughout inside, nothing major, a bit loose in places. Overall a good copy, quite serviceable. Codice inventario libreria 002587
