Very small hole in the spine cloth; the red line on the spine has bled alittle onto the rear cover.Few faint spots on front cover but overall a clean, tight copy of a scarce little book.

FIRST EDITION 1906, 125 x 95 mm, 5 x 3½ inches, dark brown boards with 2 gilt panels on upper cover with design of white geese, lettered white on upper cover, red and blue illustrated endpapers, 88 pages. 20 very pretty colour plates of young children, 4 small coloured illustrations on the prelims. Spine expertly rebacked with original spine relaid, 30 mm (1¼") of original missing at top, lacking 'The'. File copy with pale stamp on upper cover, mainly on brown background but just showing on part of 2 title letters (see image), also stamped on plain lower cover, same stamp in pale pink on front endpaper. Just slightly rubbed at corners, contents very nice. A very good copy of an uncommon appealing little book for young children. Printed on one side only this series was designed to fit easily into the hands of a small child. Internally very good in original trade binding which is a little soiled.

Publisher's original buff cloth covers with burgundy lines and lettering. 95 pages of this delightful story of a very bad boy named Sammy that was always in mischief. The covers are bright and clean, as are the contents, and apart from a very neat name in pencil on the title page, is in wonderful condition. No bumped corners. No torn pages. No marks or coloring. This is the nicest copy of this title that we have ever seen.
