Cloth. Condizione: Very Good. INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR AND ATLANTA ARCHITECT W.T. DOWNING on the front free endpaper. A solid copy to boot of the uncommon 1897 1st edition. Tight and VG in its dark cloth, with bright gilt-titling and flourishes along the front panel and spine. Just a touch of mild spotting to the panels, a bit of soiling and foxing at several of the preliminary edges. Still though, very presentable. Tall quarto, dozens of crisp black-and-white photos of interiors and exteriors of Downing's residential work in the Atlanta area, with the accompanying printed tissue-guards all present. The photos by F.W. Howe of Atlanta, the engravings by Heard Respess of Chattanooga. An impressive monograph on turn-of-the-century Southern architecture.
