Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. No Jacket. Second Printing. Philadelphia: Key & Biddle, 1834. An anthology first published in America in 1833; this is a Very Good copy of the Second Printing, from a year later. Full leather binding; raised bands ruled with gilt on the spine; black label titled in gilt. Clean text; viii, 178 pages covering Charles Phillips; xi continues with page 12 to 300 covering John Philpot Curran; Henry Grattan continues to Page 364; after which is Robert Emmet's famous Speech from the Dock, to page 370. Contemporary signature on the second free endpaper, of "William A. Palmer, Nantucket Mass. No. 10", indicating his private library. Possibly the politician from Vermont; the timing is correct, but other details do not match. Some spotting, but the text remains bright, clear, and supple. Binding is rubbed, bumped at the margins. There is a 1-1/4" chip to the foot of the spine. Front gutter is cracked but holding well. An attractive book, despite its issues, that would benefit from some minor restoration. Second Printing. Full-Leather. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
