Da: Carydale Books, Rhinebeck, NY, U.S.A.
Hardcover. Condizione: Good. No Jacket. early. bound in 1/2 polished green calf. Covers and spine somewhat worn. Contains 73 engraved plates with great detail- including extra engraved title page plus one folding plate. Nine of the plates are handcolored and 2 others including the engraved title page have some slight partial coloring. Light- moderate soiling throughout. There is a dampstain at the top left corner of most plates which does not encroach on the images except in a few cases. Abbey, Life in England #70 describes the plates as being hand colored, most of which are not in this copy, though this discrepancy is commonly the case. The plates depict medieval furniture, cabinets, fireplace equipment, candlesticks and others. This work is among the first to draw people to collecting furniture.
