Hardcover. Condizione: Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. MODERN LIBRARY EDITION WITH DUST JACKET AND COOL PRICE CHANGE STICKER. Ten Days that Shook the World by John Reed. With a foreword by V.I. Lenin. New York: The Modern Library, 1935. Reprint 1945/1947. Here is a copy of John Reed's sympathetic, eyewitness account of the Bolshevik Revolution. It is a very collectible Modern Library title and a good read, perhaps especially these days. Bound in green cloth covered boards (spine #8) the book is FINE and appears unread and unopened. Solid binding, bright gilt, blue topstain. Contents are clean, no owners signature and there is no writing in the text. The dust jacket is NEAR FINE with minimal chipping to spine extremities. Tiny chips on top front. Otherwise incredibly bright and clean! On the inside of the dust jacket 304 titles are mentioned indicating a 1945 printing but there is a Modern Library sticker covering the price on the inside flap stating that "As of April 15, 1947, the price of The Modern Library in U.S.A. is $1.25 a copy. Other markings void. The Modern Library, Inc." A cool piece of Modern Library transitional history! Now protected in an archival-quality dust jacket protector.
