Libro
Hardcover. Condizione: VG+. Condizione sovraccoperta: VG. Photos, Maps, Diagrams (illustratore). 1st. 1st. 23.5cm By 15.5cm. This narrow guage tramway was eight miles of track, with inclines, linking a coalmine with a Government branch line at Mount Somers. Line later widened to standard guage. During its 50 years of operation the rail carried other mineral freights and commodities. However, the mineral riches expected never fully eventuated and this example of local initiative faced dwindling demand and was eventually closed. An interesting, and now scarce, chapter in NZ's rail history. 114 pages including two appendices, chronology, bibliography, index, 25 b/w photos, 11 diagrams or maps, line gradient e/papers. Black hard covers with gilt spine titles VG+, ditto text block. Pictorial DJ few small tape repaired tears, few chips, otherwise VG.
