Dave McKean (illustratore). Dublin: Swan River Press:, 2023. First edition, Hardcover, SIGNED, Limited, New in dust jacket, 189 pp. Cover artwork by: Dave McKean This edition limited to 550 copies signed bu both Iain Sinclair and illustrator Dave McKean. Yes, illustrated by Dave McKean. We love Iain Sinclair and so does most evertone else. "'Generally speaking the dead do not return,' pronounced Antonin Artaud. But the dead are permitted to visit those who welcome them. Their spectral, machine-made voices echo in deep tunnels under London. Voices without hosts. Without agency. They make their oracular pronouncements even when nobody is listening on the vast empty platforms of the Elizabeth Line. They have their codes and their secret meanings. Four stories starting everywhere and finishing in madness. Four acknowledged guides. Four tricksters. Four inspirations. Algernon Blackwood. Arthur Machen. J. G. Ballard. H. P. Lovecraft. They are known as 'Agents of Oblivion'. And sometimes, in brighter light, as oblivious angels . . . As host, as oracle, Iain Sinclair moves through this quartet of tales, through a spectral London that once was, or might never have been." Blackwood, Machen, Ballard and Lovecraft. . . you mean perhaps the four greatest voices ever in fantastic fiction. This book, I predick, will not be long for this world. First edition, Hardcover, SIGNED, Limited, New in dust jacket,

Trade Paperback. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. First Edition. This is a true UK first edition / first printing, with 'First published in Great Britain in 1997'. about a man trapped in space (but not time) in a nightmarish Victorian London. The Welsh author - a close friend of Alan Moore - often makes London his subject, and was the major initiator of a literary device that's become known as 'psychogeography'. There's a touch of shelfwear. Tiny creases on the book's corners. Otherwise, a nice copy of a fascinating book.

SIGNED hardcover first edition - Limited, signed edition. Sinclair at his best - or worst. A unique mixture of fiction, history, and autobiography, set in the Welsh borderlands. As one reviewer commented "There are plot lines galore: murder, suicides, mental asylums, a good deal of bookselling and buying (Sinclair's old trade), readings, writings. There are cameos from the past: David Jones, Father Ignatius, Henry and Thomas Vaughan, and Francis Kilvert are presences through much of the book, and Allen Ginsberg and Bruce Chatwin also pop up. A number of Sinclair's friends and acquaintances also have roles, from Michael Moorcock to the usual cast of odd characters that follow him from book to book, who live, like him, 'on the ledge of the peripheral'. The Jeremy Thorpe affair plays a role. And, of course, there's Walter Savage Landor, towering (vaguely) behind it all." Number 86 of a limited edition of 250 numbered clothbound copies SIGNED by both the author and illustrator on a special preliminary page. 345 pp. plus a 19 pg section of illustrated "files recovered from Kaporal's Caravan". Fine in a burgundy cloth with gilt lettering on the spine in a matching cloth slipcase.
