Zusammen 3 SS. Qu.-8vo. Bedankt sich bei Josef Wesely für Glückwünsche zum Geburtstag. - Kornauth studierte als Schüler von Robert Fuchs und Franz Schreker an der Wiener Staatsakademie für Musik sowie bei Guido Adler an der dortigen Univ. und wurde 1915 promoviert. Seit 1916 Solokorrepetitor an der Wiener Staatsoper, war er 1917/18 Theorielehrer am Musikhistorischen Institut der Univ. und unternahm dann Reisen als Konzertbegleiter, Kammermusiker und Interpret eigener Werke durch Europa, die USA, Ostindien und Südamerika. Von 1940-45 war er Prof. der Musiktheorie an der Musikakademie in Wien, seit 1945 Prof. der Komposition am Mozarteum in Salzburg. Sein kompositorisches Werk, in dem kontrapunktische Techniken überwiegen, ist der deutschen Spätromantik verpflichtet und umfaßt Kammermusik, Orchester- und Klavierwerke, Chöre und Lieder.
