A first edition of this musical score accompanied by beautiful illustrations by Dutch illustrator Henriette Willebeek Le Mair. Le Mair's sweet colour illustrations intersperse Alfred Moffat's harmonized versions of common nursery rhymes. Moffatt was a Scottish musician, composer and collector of music, who studied composition and wrote for German music publishing firms. In the publisher's original light blue cloth binding. Externally, a little worn. Rather rubbed and a little soiled to the boards, less so to the spine. Lightly bumped to the head and tail of the spine. The front hinge has nearly failed and is connected by cords only. Internally, the binding is a little loose. Pages are bright with the odd mark. Fair. book.
