Filippo SCHIASSI a Antonio MAZZETTO cita più volte Giovanni LABUS, Francesco OORIOLI, Clemente CARDINALI, Gaetano MONTI, Franc. Viglio BARBACOVIO, Giovanni Batista e Giuseppe teodorico BORSIERI, Benedetto GIOVANELLI, Costantino LORENZI. IL MONTI (Bologna 1712 - 1797), botanico, nel 1753 pubblicò con il pade gli "Indices botanici", con una documentata storia dell Orto botanico bolognese, contribuì a fare della botanica una scienza indipendente dalla medicina, si occupò di uccelli (il "pendolino"), stabilì che le anguille sono ovipare e fu anche un erudito umanista.
