Libro
reprint, stapled. Condizione: Gut. pp. 216-235. From the library of Prof. Wolfgang Haase, long-time editor of ANRW and the International Journal of the Classical Tradition (IJCT). - Author's name underlined on cover, otherwise very good and clean. - From the text: In preparation for a new edition of the liber medicinalis Quinti Sereni for the Corpus Medicorum Latinorum, I have undertaken an exhaustive search for all printed editions. Finding that hitherto the editions of the incunable period (1450-1500) have been most inadequately treated, I address myself here to the task of (i) describing accurately and in detail these particular editions, and (ii) examining the significance of the liber medicinalis relatively early appearance in print. Two incunable editions were known to twentieth century editors of the liber medicinalis, but actually there are three. Let us begin with an accurate and detailed description of the three editions in what the evidence seems to establish as the correct chronology of their appearance in print.
