Libro Prima edizione
Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Square 4to. 220pp. Dark grey cloth w/ blind stamped label, wrapped in an illustrated jacket and housed in an elegant, illustrated cloth slipcase. A wonderfully designed book, thoroughly illustrated in colour throughout, with a mix of full, double page, and in-text photographic reproductions. Besides a minor amount of shelf-wear to the jacket, the book is in excellent condition with no faults to speak of. An extensive and authoritative text on St Francis' basilica. Chapters dedicated to everything from the Frescoes, to the various approaches given to the lighting throughout the church's history. Two particular highlights are the consideration of the basilica's architecture and a study proposal for Cimabue's Crucifixion of Assisi. A wonderful tribute to one of Umrbria's most prized treasures. Near fine. Book weighs roughly 3.5 kg and postage will have to be adjusted accordingly.
