Part of the twelve volume set on the History of English Literature. Selection of four long form essays; Medieval Drama, The Carol and 15th Century Lyric, Popular Narrative Poetry and the Ballad, and the fourth essay which is on Thomas Mallory. 243 pages with Index, 5-3/4" X 8-5/8". The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. This is an American edition, with the original price of $7.00 on the top corner of the front flap. Jacket has a spot of edge wear at the top left corner, with a 1/2" tear, and a couple of abrasion marks to the spine panel. Beautiful blue cloth covered boards, nicely bound as is usual with Oxford titles. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Very slight scrape mark to the top edge of the text block. Binding is tight and square. This is not a library discard copy. Attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
