Illustrated by 75 photographic plates, including frontispiece, on 48 pages of plates, by 41 text figures and by tables in text. A well illustrated volume in the Lonsdale Library of Sports, Games and Pastimes. Eric Parker (1870-1955) was Editor-in- Chief of The Field and a writer on sport, topography and natural history. Principally concerned with game birds and wild fowl, it also includes chapters on gun dogs, the legal aspect of shooting, first-aid and shooting accidents and game cookery.
