Minimal edge rubbing, good hinges, firm text block, very lightly age-toned but clean pages, only one or two instances of light foxing, no names or other markings. Pencil note at front indicates that the plates are proof plates, likely a note from a prior bookseller. . Hard Cover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Decorated gilt design to spine. A very attractive set. Endpapers and first few pages have some foxing, but the text is generally clean and soundly bound. The plates are beautifully engraved, from paintings by Henry Fuseli, although they are foxed with age, but still a handsome set. Text in English. Vol. I: Prelims with portrait frontispiece + 264pp + 6 Plates. Vol. II: Prelims + 250pp + 6 Plates. Weight approximately 988g (the set - unpacked).
