This is the first comprehensive treatment of the British broad-nosed weevils (also called short-nosed weevils') since 1891. Although primarily intended to enable identification of the 106 British species, this Handbook also acts as an introduction to a group that has many interesting characteristics. In some of these weevils only females are known, and many species are flightless, with fused elytra. The group also includes some notorious pests, while other species have very restricted ranges and are of high conservation importance. The Handbook summarises much recent work on broad-nosed weevils and serves as a starting point for further research and study. 106 pp., 305 figs, br. gr. 8.
