This work is written on her travels to Europe and is a 'New Edition' issued the same year as the first edition. 'A Diary.' is a wildly popular work by Swedish writer and feminist reformer, Fredrike Bremer. Bremer successfully emancipated herself from her brother's wardship and established Sweden's first female tertiary school. 'Nature and Art' is a Elizabeth Inchbald's second novel which considers the influence of education, social conventions and gender conditioning. 'Mutiny of the Bounty' is a memoir written by Captain Lieutenant William Bligh. 'Two Years before the Mast' is a memoir by the American author Richard Henry Dana Jr. He wrote the work following a two year sea voyage from Boston to California. Dana provided a vivid contemporaneous description of life at sea. In a full diced calf binding. Externally, smart. Patches of rubbing to the joints and spine, heavier to the head and tail. Further patches of light rubbing to the boards. Prior owner's inscription to the recto of front endpaper, listing all works present to this volume. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with just the occasional light spots. Very Good Indeed. book.
