Text in English and Aztec. Including - The People, Medicine, Cities. "The Florentine Codex is one of three well-known manuscripts planned by Fray Bernardino de Sahagun to describe the civilization of the Aztecs. The term Florentine Codex used in this Temporary Preface means Sahagun's Historia in the famed manuscript of the Lauretian Library, Florence, Italy. If, when the total project is completed, the translators have produced a work sufficiently accurate to convey reliably the meaning of the Aztec, and thus be of use to the historian and ethnologist, they will have sufficiently accomplished their purpose" (translators). Light shelf-wear to boards, lightly bumped at corners and ends of spine, interior very lightly sunned at margins, not affecting images. In overall very good condition.
