This work details the experience of army physician Humphry Sandwith during the last major operation of the Crimean War, the Siege of Kars in Turkey. With a frontispiece and two fold-out maps. In a brown cloth binding. Externally, rubbed with some sunning to spine and boards. Closed tear to front joint and wear to head and tail of spine. Front joint detached from text block and rear joint loosening. Bookbinder's label to rear pastedown. Ink inscription and bookseller's stamp to front endpaper. Internally, binding is loosening in places somewhat shaken. Pages are generally bright with light spotting. Fair. book.
