Libro Prima edizione
Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. 1st Edition. 1st edition, 1974, pub. Garnstone Press. Rare/Scarce. Ex-library copy in VGC throughout. Absorbing account of megalithic sites, menhirs, standing stones, Crosses, dolmens, etc., on the Land's End peninsula in the West Penwith district of Cornwall. 136 pages printed and bound in black cloth boards, with silver, gilt titles to the spine. Extensive black & white photographs throughout, with additional illustrations & diagrams and two fold-out maps in VGC (no tears or repairs) opposite pages 14 and 107. Condition remarks are as follows: occasional and barely visible small marks to front boards; slight creases to end papers, to the bottom of some pages and to bottom corners of fold-out maps; 'page-turning creases' to the bottom of pages 85-92; v. occasional, light fox-marks to some page ends; library stamp (Sheffield City Libraries) to title page; light fox-marks to internal f.e.p; remnants of library sticker and cellotape marks to front end papers & similar marks to rear end papers as per accompanying photographs. Notwithstanding these library marks, this is a very tidy copy in overall VGC with clean contents, tight binding and no annotations. Non-clipped, photographic dust-jacket with internal 'wrinkling' and dark 'rubbings' (probably from boards) but in VGC, no tears or repairs and protected in a clear wrapper. Summary: in remarkable condition overall for an ex-library copy and highly collectable. Large 8vo. [Postage note: well within the 2kg weight for internal dispatch as a small parcel within the UK, but additional postage will be required for dispatch to international destinations].
