Facsimile of the 1916 Sanborn fire-insurance atlas of Holland, Michigan, reproduced in full color from the Library of Congress copy. It covers the whole Ottawa County city of 15,000 people at the head of Macatawa Bay, from the stores, banks and hotels of Eighth Street and River Avenue through the tanneries, furniture factories, furnace works and pickle factory on the bay and the railroad to Hope College, the churches, schools and residential additions, and the Lake Michigan summer resorts of Macatawa Park, Ottawa Beach and Jenison Park.
The twenty-eight numbered sheets that follow work block by block from the stores, banks and offices along Eighth Street, River Avenue and Central Avenue - the City Hall, the Post Office, the Jail, the Telephone Office, the Knickerbocker Theatre, the Hotel Holland, Hotel Bristol, Park Hotel and Chicago House and the Moose Lodge - through the Pere Marquette freight and passenger depots, the Grand Rapids, Holland & Chicago interurban freight station and the Michigan Railway car barn and shop, the Graham & Morton steamship dock and freight house on Macatawa Bay, the Cappon & Bertsch leather company's north and south side tanneries, the H. J. Heinz pickle factory, the Holland Sugar Company, the Holland Furnace Company and the Home Furnace foundry, the Bay View, West Michigan, Ottawa, Limbert and Holland furniture factories, the Bush & Lane piano works, the Thompson library-furniture factory, the Veit woodworking plant, the Globe carving works, the Holland Shoe and Holland Rug companies, the Holland Aniline, Holland Chemical and Depree Chemical works, the Superior Foundry, the Western Machine Tool Works, the Buss Machine Works, the Brownwall engine and pulley works, the Holland Launch and Engine Company, the Donnelly-Kelley glass works, the Van Eyck-Weurding, Beach and Standard flour mills, the City and Seif breweries, the water works and electric light station and the coal, wood and lumber yards, to Hope College and the Western Theological Seminary, the High School, the Washington, Lincoln, Van Raalte, Maple Grove and Beechwood public schools, St. Frances de Sales Roman Catholic Church, the First, Third, Fourth, Sixth, Sixteenth Street and Hope Reformed churches, the Christian Reformed churches of Central Avenue, Ninth Street, Fourteenth Street, Maple Avenue and Prospect Park, the First Methodist Episcopal, Grace Episcopal, Wesleyan Methodist, Zion's Lutheran and Seventh Day Adventist churches, Centennial Park and the South Ottawa and West Allegan Agricultural fair grounds, and the residential additions out to Prospect Park, with a last sheet on the summer resorts of Macatawa Park, Ottawa Beach, Marshall Place and Jenison Park, the Hotel Macatawa, Hotel Ottawa and the Pines summer hotel.
In 1916 the Sanborn Map Company of New York surveyed Holland for the fire-insurance trade, drawing the city at fifty feet to the inch. Every building is shown to scale and color-coded for construction (yellow for frame, pink for brick, blue for stone), with heights, uses, windows, party walls, hydrants, water mains and fire stations all marked. The index lists every street and every named business, church, school, hotel, mill and works with the sheet it appears on, and the key map places the colored sheet grid over the whole city.
This Exile Books edition is an unabridged facsimile republication of the atlas: all twenty-nine numbered map sheets, 1 to 29, sheet 1 being the combined title, key map and index sheet with its report on the water works and fire department, and sheet 29 covering the summer resorts of Macatawa Park, Ottawa Beach, Marshall Place and Jenison Park, printed at 8.5 x 11 inches on premium color paper. Ideal for local historians, genealogists, architects, preservationists and anyone tracing a Holland address back to 1916.

Hai il diritto di recedere dal presente contratto entro 14 giorni senza fornire alcuna motivazione.
Il periodo di recesso scade dopo 14 giorni dal giorno in cui tu o una terza parte, diversa dal vettore e da te indicata, acquisisce il possesso fisico dell'ultimo bene o dell'ultimo lotto o pezzo.
Per esercitare il diritto di recesso, compila e invia elettronicamente una dichiarazione esplicita sul nostro sito Web, alla voce “I miei acquisti” nella sezione “Mio account”. Ti comunicheremo senza indugio una conferma di ricezione di tale recesso su un supporto durevole (ad es. via e-mail).
Per rispettare il termine di recesso, è sufficiente inviare la comunicazione relativa all'esercizio del diritto di recesso prima della scadenza del periodo di recesso stesso.
Effetti del recesso
In caso di recesso dal presente contratto, ti rimborseremo tutti i pagamenti ricevuti, compresi i costi di spedizione (ad eccezione dei costi supplementari derivanti dalla tua eventuale scelta di un tipo di spedizione diverso dal tipo meno costoso di consegna standard da noi offerto).
Potremo effettuare una detrazione dal rimborso per la perdita di valore dei beni forniti, qualora tale perdita sia il risultato di una manipolazione non necessaria da parte tua.
Eseguiremo il rimborso senza indebito ritardo e non oltre 14 giorni dal giorno in cui saremo informati della tua decisione di recedere dal presente contratto.
Il rimborso sarà effettuato utilizzando lo stesso mezzo di pagamento da te usato per la transazione iniziale, salvo che tu non abbia espressamente concordato altrimenti; in ogni caso, non dovrai sostenere alcun costo quale conseguenza di tale rimborso.
Possiamo trattenere il rimborso finché non avremo ricevuto i beni oppure finché non avrai fornito la prova di averli rispediti, a seconda di quale condizione si verifichi per prima.
Dovrai rispedire i beni o consegnarli a AHA-BUCH GmbH, Einbeck, Germany, senza indebito ritardo e, in ogni caso, entro 14 giorni dal giorno in cui ci hai comunicato la tua volontà di recedere dal presente contratto. Il termine è rispettato se rispedisci i beni prima della scadenza del periodo di 14 giorni. I costi diretti della restituzione dei beni saranno a tuo carico. Sei responsabile solo della diminuzione del valore dei beni risultante da una manipolazione diversa da quella necessaria per stabilire la natura, le caratteristiche e il funzionamento dei beni stessi.
Eccezioni al diritto di recesso
Il diritto di recesso non si applica a:
- La fornitura di giornali, periodici o riviste ad eccezione dei contratti di abbonamento; e
- La fornitura di contenuto digitale non fornito su un supporto materiale (ad es. su un CD o DVD), se al momento dell'invio dell'ordine hai accettato l'inizio dell'esecuzione e hai riconosciuto che non avresti potuto recedere una volta iniziata l'esecuzione.
