20 Scots Short Stories for Beginners (Paperback)

Discover the heart, humor, and heritage of Scotland through its own living language.

Whether you know it as Lallans, Lowland Scots, or Braid Scots, this language is the soul of Scottish literature and daily life. "20 Scots Short Stories for Beginners" is not just a textbook; it is an invitation to step into a world of cozy cottages, misty glens, and cheeky banter, designed specifically to help you read and understand Scots with confidence.

We have designed this English-Scots dual-language book to grow with you. The journey begins with 10 stories at the CEFR A1 level, using simple sentence structures to build your foundation. Once you are comfortable, the book progresses to 10 stories at the CEFR A2 level, introducing slightly richer vocabulary and longer narratives to stretch your skills without overwhelming you.

Before you dive in, a dedicated section guides you through the Scots alphabet and pronunciation, ensuring you can hear the rhythm of the words as they are meant to be spoken.
