24- More is a continued anthology of stories by Hector M. Rodriguez. This collection, represents a continued exploration of the moments that define us-both the extraordinary and the deceptively ordinary. These are stories of memory and discovery, of roads traveled and bridges burned, of family fractures and unexpected grace.
Within these pages, you'll find tales that span decades and geography. You'll meet Mr. Walls, the truancy officer who turned out to have a heart of gold beneath his intimidating exterior. You'll journey across America on a bicycle, experiencing the pandemic's interruption of a cross-country dream. You'll witness the magic of Christmas through the eyes of two orphaned brothers in Corvallis, Oregon. You'll explore family dynamics around a turquoise jewelry collection that becomes a symbol of healing and forgiveness.
Some of these stories are drawn directly from lived experience, the log entries marked with dates and places are testimony to real moments, real people, real lessons learned. Others blend memory with imagination, asking what fiction can reveal that straight memoir cannot. All of them, however, are (mostly) true in the way that matters most: they capture something essential about what it means to be human. These narratives explore themes that thread through all our lives: the complexity of family relationships, the unexpected wisdom of strangers, the healing power of journey and adventure, the weight of memory and the lightness of forgiveness, and the small moments that turn out to be pivotal. They remind us that every person we encounter carries their own story, fights their own battles, harbors their own dreams. I've organized these stories not chronologically but emotionally, creating a rhythm I hope will take you from memory to magic, from reflection to revelation. Some stories will make you laugh, others may bring tears. Some will transport you to specific places and times, while others exist in that liminal space where reality and wonder intersect. This is a book about paying attention. About noticing the truancy officer's concern for a troubled student. About recognizing that a piece of turquoise jewelry can carry the weight of reconciliation. About understanding that a hoot owl named Zizzi might be exactly the magic two orphaned brothers need. About realizing that sometimes the most important journeys are the ones that get interrupted. So settle in, dear reader. These stories are yours now. May they offer you what they offered me: moments of recognition, windows into other lives and perhaps a deeper appreciation for the beautiful, messy, mysterious tapestry of human experience.

Descrizione dello Store
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book.
