The scope of what we call operations management has expanded and diversified since 1985. This growth has affected not only what is covered, but also how it is covered and how this material is delivered to students. This is a modular text that presents an alternative designed to meet the challenge posed by professors of operations management who have voiced the need for an expansive, easily updated, customizable treatment of operations management content. It allows instructors to take total advantage of the many diverse approaches to teaching operations management in the new millennium. This is accomplished by offering modules covering both traditional and emerging topics in operations management, along with an introductory group of modules defining the theme of "value" that serves as a unifying framework for the series.
