James A. Brannan (Gaithersburg, MD) has written three other books, including the forthcoming iPhone SDK Programming: A Beginner's Guide for McGraw-Hill. James has worked as a developer since 1994, using languages from Awk to C to Visual Basic. His current position is SOA Engineer, where he programs Java web services extensively. He has worked on UNIX, LINUX, Windows, and Mac platforms. He has developed two iPhone applications, and he is a registered iPhone developer. James loves computers, loves programming, and loves explaining how things work. His current books reflect this love and this book will too.
