Such errors are reported when the operating system is unable to process any code specified in a particular line of the CONFIG.SYS file. Usually this error is produced either when a file specified in the CONFIG.SYS line is not found, or when the specified path is incorrect.

B is incorrect because it is possible that the CONFIG.SYS line 5 is referencing one of the driver files and is not able to find it. If you have modified the CONFIG.SYS file, which typically is done to load a specific driver file, and you have not installed the adapter driver, you will get this error. C is incorrect because this may also cause the given error. D is incorrect because if there is a syntax error in the CONFIG.SYS file, the operating system will not be able to process that line.
