The succeeding chapters deal with other components of materials mechanics, such as rings, discs, cylinders, and torsion of non-circular and thin-walled sections. These topics are followed by reviews of experimental stress analysis, circular plates, diaphragms, and an introduction to the advanced elasticity theory. The final chapters examine contact and residual stresses, stress concentrations, fatigue, creep, and fracture. This book will prove useful to students with degree course in mechanics of materials.
