Strategic control is concerned with measuring and rewarding strategic performance against pre-set goals, in the same way as budgetary control measures and rewards financial achievement against pre-set budgets. But strategy is long-term and budgeting is short-term. So how does an organization reconcile strategy with budgeting and ensure that managers achieve both budgetary and strategic targets?
