Sinossi
Management Face to Face is a comprehensive guide for managers on how to conduct the various types of face-to-face situations they encounter at work. These situations can take up to two thirds of the normal working time for most managers, and cause some of their greatest problems. In the first four chapters, Derek Torrington discusses general aspects of methods and competences in face-to-face situations. The following ten chapters each deal with different situations (selection, attitude surveying, training, presentation, selling, counselling, discipline, appraisal, negotiation, arbitration). In each chapter there is a simple structure of preparation, encounter and follow-up. The chapters conclude with one or more exercises. Management Face to Face is written for all managers wishing to become more effective in their ability to deal with people face to face.
