It explores in detail how CAE tools can be used to speed the PLD design process and provides concrete examples of designs that have been developed using PLD's and a variety of different design techniques. Part one provides an overview of the PLD industry, surveys the programmable logic devices (including PAL, FPLA, EPLD and LCA architectures) currently available and investigates some of the many design tools available for users of these devices. Part two presents techniques that can be used to produce PLD-based designs quickly, efficiently and reliably.
