Mark Tully was born in Calcutta and educated in India and England, where he read theology and History at Cambridge University. In 1993 he became the BBC's South Asia Correspondent. Since leaving BBC in 1994 he has worked with radio and tv on a variety of programmes. He is co-author of AMRITSAR: MRS GANDHI'S LAST STAND, and FROM RAJ TO RAJIV and author of NO FULL STOPS IN INDIA and THE HEART OF INDIA.
