A guide to problem areas of English grammar and vocabulary for Spanish students at a lower intermediate level and upwards. Its 338 short articles explain those points of language that most frequently cause difficulty. It also explains the difference between formal and informal language. Each entry is arranged alphabetically and is illustrated with examples of acceptable (and sometimes faulty) usage. Correct examples are highlighted in a different colour. It provides a comparison between the structures, vocabulary and idiomatic expressions of English and Spanish and an explanation of the differences between formal and informal language. The design of this book is similar to that of the "Practical English Usage" also by Michael Swan, but which is designed for students at a lower level.
