An account of the China Races which boasted the most sumptuous grandstands, the largest crowds, and the most enthusiastic betting of any horse races anywhere in the world during the early 20th century. The study concludes with an account of the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club since 1945 and a description of return of the Races to China in 1992.
