This volume is an introduction to recent developments in the application of wave-splitting methods to direct and inverse scattering of wave fields. Wave-splitting refers to the decomposition of the total field into two components which propagate in opposite directions. The emphasis is on time domain methods, although some applications to frequency domain problems are also included. The book is intended for graduate students studying electromagnetic propagation and scattering, particularly inverse problems (arising in remote sensing, medical imaging, prospecting, non-destructive testing, etc).
