The choice of articles is superb - they serve not only as reading comprehension exercises but also generate spontaneous discussion. However, the best are 'Beyond the Text' sections. They have taken me to the areas which before I would have seen as totally unrelated to what we have been doing in class. Also, the pictures in the book for the first time made it absolutely clear for me how to prepare the visual materials for the oral exam. This is a brilliant book. I think it covers the topics very nicely and aligns with the new IB program in so many aspects such as themes, connection with TOK, and new Written Assignments. I definitely find it a great choice for teachers as it saves a lot of time from planning and choosing relevant articles that students will find attractive.
