The book provides a comprehensive collation and commentary on the jurisprudence of the Court, situating it in the broader context of international human rights law, drawing comparisons in particular with the case law of the European Court of Human Rights. It features coverage of both procedural and substantive human rights law.
Comprehensively indexed and cross-referenced, the book offers for the first time in English ready access to the jurisprudence of one of the major regional human rights courts. Based on an original French publication, the book has been fully updated and rewritten and includes extensive bibliographies for each of the issues and rights selected for commentary.

Laurence Burgorgue-Larsen is a Professor of Public Law at the Université de Paris 1, Panthéon-Sorbonne. She has published extensively in French, and in English her publications include a contribution to The Judicial House of Lords (OUP, 2009).; Amaya Ubeda de Torres is a Legal Specialist at the Venice Commission. Her first book was published in Spanish in 2007.
