Providing clinicians with thematic tests for children, adolescents, adults and the elderly, this work focuses on the thematic apperception test (TAT). Attention is given to a standard method of administration, a standard sequence of 10 cards, and a standard method of scoring. The authors demonstrate how to elicit elaborate stories for the TAT, CAT and SAT tests, to facilitate a more in-depth diagnostic assessment. Additionally, they provide clinical examples and scoring protocols which proceed through a step-by-step process of using thematic tests to evaluate the main components of an individual's personality. This edition has a chapter which shows clinicians how to balance the importance of age, gender and cultural norms when using thematic tests.
