This book looks at the various aspects of packet based communications and its application within local and wide area networks. Packet based communications systems have traditionally been widely used for the transmission and switching data traffic. However, with the advent of newer technologies such as Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) packetised voice is also becoming a reality. These techniques are described in detail within this book.
