Book Description:

"Those who take their digital photography seriously will find the book an invaluable guide.” Steve Bavister, photographer

"The two Chris's have done a great job for the new SLR owner by introducing them to all of the real-world differences they'll face when upgrading from a point-and-shoot camera. The illustrations echo the kinds of images the newbie SLR owner can reasonably expect from their new camera."--Shutterbug Magazine

About the Author:

Chris Weston is a professional nature photographer and writer. He has written 17 books on photography and his specialist subject, wildlife. In addition to writing books and articles for international magazines and newspapers, Chris is an experienced photography teacher and lecturer, running photography seminars, short courses and overseas workshops.
Chris Coe (www.chriscoe.com) is an accomplished professional photographer and photography educator. Since turning professional in 1992, he has photographed landscapes, people, architecture, gardens, travel destinations and wildlife around the world. Most of his work is commissioned for specific advertising and editorial projects or for stock libraries. He has shot over 40 travel and coffee table books and has undertaken commissions for a wide range of major multinational companies. His images have been widely published in newspapers, magazines and books. Examples of his published work can be found in the "in print" section of this website. Chris has presented photographic features for TV and he lectures on a variety of photographic subjects, including travel, landscape and stock photography, at numerous major international conferences. He has also written articles about photography for specialist photographic, travel and lifestyle magazines. Together with fellow professional photographers and friends, Nick Meers and Chris Weston, and digital imaging expert, Terry Steeley, Chris runs a series of photography courses and digital imaging courses in the UK and overseas, covering everything you need to know about photography to enjoy it as a hobby, as a profession or to get started as a new career. In 2003, Chris founded the now prestigious international photography awards, Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY), www.tpoty.com.
