Excerpt from Lost and Rescued
DO all the good you can, To all the people you can, In all the ways you can, As long as ever you can.
I expect to pass through this world but once. If, there fore, there be any kindness I can do to any fellow human being, let me do it now; let me not delay nor neglect it, for I Will never pass this way again.
Prompted by the inspiring sentiment expressed in the above lines, these pages have been written; and whatever faults the book may have, either of omission or commission, the author is conscious of being actuated by the purest of motives. The thought of living in this world _oi change and need, with its golden opportunities passing with the speed of fleeting tithe, has given me an abiding inspiration in my work and an increasing purpose to do my duty. Thus was the book conceived in thought and afterwards brought to completion.
